Wish Tree is a community-wide endeavor that activates a huge number of people in supporting children (up to and including 13 years of age) in Inyo County. The program provides low income families with some help on Christmas with gifts for their children. Local businesses, schools, civic groups, organizations and individuals generously contribute their time, resources and money. Volunteers participate in all areas of the project, from decorating gift bags to providing sites for the Wish Trees and delivery of gifts from Santa. Applications are usually available the end of October or first of November and gifts are delivered by Santa’s helpers in the days just before Christmas.
Holiday Food Baskets for Christmas
Each year, local community donations enable IMACA to support households with their meal on Christmas. Approximately 400 local food baskets which include the essentials for a holiday meal are distributed throughout Inyo and Mono counties.
