The City of Bishop is currently preparing the 2021-2029 Housing Element Update. The update will evaluate current and future housing conditions and identify housing sites that will meet the community’s needs. An important purpose of the Housing Element Update is to analyze the City of Bishop’s housing needs for all income levels, and to identify strategies to meet identified housing needs.
Public outreach is an important part of the Housing Element Update process, and the City has scheduled two opportunities for public input during March:
- HOUSING SURVEY: The 2021 Housing Survey will be posted on the City’s Website (at www.cityofbishop.com/departments/planning/housing_element_update) starting on Tuesday, March 16. The survey will provide an opportunity for residents to share information about where housing should be located, and recommend housing strategies and programs. The Survey will remain online for your input through Friday, March 26.
- PUBLIC MEETING: The City of Bishop is hosting a Virtual Community Workshop on Tuesday, March 24, at 5:30 pm as part of the 2021 – 2029 Housing Element Update. Participants can join the virtual workshop to learn more about the Housing Element Update and provide their input on proposed strategies for ensuring equitable and diverse housing options in Bishop. The zoom meeting information is also available on the City of Bishop Housing Element Update webpage.
The City invites community members from throughout Bishop to participate in the Virtual Community Workshop and provide their feedback at www.cityofbishop.com/housingelement from now until March 26, 2021.
